What is a Divemaster (DM)?

Divemaster is the first level of professional diving. During this rewarding and challenging class you will develop knowledge and skills necessary to:

* Supervise Scuba Diving related activities
* Assist instructors teaching classes.
* Conduct Discover Local Diving courses.
* Teach Skin Diver courses.
* Conduct Discover Scuba diving experiences.
* Teach Emergency First Response (EFR) classes (after completing an EFR instructor course).

Who can sign up for a Divemaster?

Any diver that enjoys challenges and enjoys working with others and has met the following prerequisites:

* PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another training agency.
* PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training agency.
* Medical clearance signed by a physician from the last 12 months.
* 40 logged dives to enter the course and 60 to exit.
* 18 years old.

What do I need to do to get started?

* Sit down with one of our senior instructors to discuss the intent of your choice to join the world of professional divers.
* A complete set of Scuba diving equipment in perfect working order as described in PADI standards.
* PADI Divemaster Crew pak (discounted when you sign up for DM class with us).
* Pay the course fee of $495.00

Whats next?

* You may further your dive professional credentials by taking an Assistant Instructor (AI) course.
* Consider making yourself more marketable to dive shops, resorts and live-aboards by taking as many Con-Ed classes as possible. The more experience and exposure to the industry you have will only improve your chances of gaining a position at a reputable dive center around the world or locally.
* With a DM credential most professional dive centers will require their staff to be certified Gas Blenders to fill Air and Nitrox cylinders. Any dive professional holding factory certifications for equipment service is an asset to dive centers.
